About this business

You haven't fully experienced The Outer Banks until you've been to the Kill Devil Grill. Fronted by a 1939 Kullman dining car, the KDG has one of only 6 diners in the national registry of historic buildings. Our unique restaurant features table-top juke boxes, (non-functional) providing an opportunity to explain to your kids what a record is. An historic edifice is not the only attraction here, inside you will find friendly service and an enticing menu full of high quality food.

Doug, at the bar, rocks. We had several meals there while on vacay. Everything we tried was fabulous. My husband raved about the ribeye steak, it was huge. Save room for their decadent strawberry shortcake. They don't take reservations, and the parking lot is always full, but it is so worth the wait ❤️❤️

Ah - maze - zing!!! Chicken pasta, shrimp pasta, and fried shrimp and fries all were very, very good. Great service, very nice staff! Will definitely be back when we are in Nags Head!

One of my favorite restaurants on the Outer Banks. The food is consistently great as is the service. We went last night for my birthday dinner. After a short wait we ended up at my favorite spot at the bar, at the very end. We had bruschetta for an app which is always tasty. David had the chicken piccata, which is served every Tuesday. I had the blacken wahoo over creamy corn polenta topped with an avocado/pineapple salsa. If a special has polenta, then I'm ordering it. They do it justice at KDG. And a big Thanks to Doug for... read more

Our first time dining here and we absolutely loved it! The Blackened Wahoo over Stone Ground Cheese Grits with Avacado and Pineapple Salsa was absolutely exquisite! I had never tasted grits before, so the waitress brought me a sampling of them. That sealed the deal on the dish for me! Can't wait to visit the Outer Banks again and dine here!
