Fronted by a 1939 Kullman dining car, the KDG has one of only 6 diners in the national registry of historic buildings. Our unique restaurant features table-top juke boxes, (non-functional) providing an opportunity to explain to your kids what a record is. An historic edifice is not the only attraction here, inside you will find friendly service and an enticing menu full of high quality food.

RecommendedLet me start by saying the service here is hands down the best we have experienced in the Outer Banks, absolutely amazing. The food was delicious, their wings are grilled to perfection with a little bite. The Cheesesteak egg rolls and Spinach dip were good also. The entrees were healthy portions and very good. Great Citrus Salad with Grilled Shrimp. Wonderful service and atmosphere! Highly recommend!
Only got a pic of my entree, but everything was amazing. The KDH salad was a great starter and big enough to split as a starter. The Apple Crisp was to die for and I am pretty sure everyone who works there took care of us at some point... whether it was clearing the table, refilling water, delivering drinks and food, or checking in to give an update on our order.
We were scrounging to find somewhere to get dinner on the first night of our trip, and really didn’t know what to expect with this hidden gem of a restaurant! When we visit the Outer Banks, we HAVE to go to Kill Devil Grill! We had the scallops, salmon & short rib dinner specials. Couldn't decide which to order so we got all three & shared. OH. MY. GOODNESS. EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection! The salmon was moist & flaky, the short ribs & scallops were so tender they melted in our mouths!
