When my father found himself in the emergency room for hernia pain and Dr Von Besser acted respectfully and as his advocate to get him the care he needed. Furthermore, she was so thorough that she uncovered some underlying issues through comprehensive testing. She explained things directly to my father who has dementia which I appreciated and I felt like I thoroughly understood her thought process and reasoning. I appreciated her appropriate humor and her general countenance.
My husband had misfortune of seeing Dr. Von Besser at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He is a below knee amputee on one leg and has 3 remaining toes on the residual foot. Wound care arrived on the 7th day for the first time because “she planned on amputating the foot and not wound care”. She was confident her life altering medical decision was appropriate and not to be questioned. If Dr. Von Besser had her way my husband would be a double amputee.
