difficult to contact very unprofessional. STAY AWAY. Have rented with a variety of Kingston based companies with little issues, this is a first. Couldn’t even get a booking after almost a week of trying to see an apartment, and they rented it without even telling me this was a possibility.
I lived in a Keystone apartment for 7 years (2016-2023). After hearing friends’ horror stories of landlords in Kingston, I’m convinced Keystone is the only landlord I’d recommend in the city. Rent is on the higher end with them (my unit was surprisingly cheap for a 2 bedroom because we signed the lease in 2016), but you get what you pay for. Absolute worst company to rent from. Does not respond to emails. Did not complete maintenance requests we had before moving in and during tenancy, but only in last 3 months of our tenancy. On top of that, maintenance was in the unit almost every weekday using power drills etc for 3 months, but no response about splitting utility costs. Once asked for our fire alarms to be fixed and Maintenance said «looks like they’re dead, I might come back with batteries later» and never did. My apartment that I’m about to leave is nice but the Keystone office has been very disorganized and has been such a hassle. Upon ending my tenancy, I signed multiple forms saying I am leaving only for them to take an extra month’s rent sending me into overdraft. As a student this was very detrimental to me. When I contacted the office, they would not give me the rent back right away and said it would take 6-8 weeks.
