I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Dooms on a high recommendation of my primary care doctor in January of 2024. The first available appointment was June. They called me in May to tell me that he decided to take a vacation and reschedule me to September. I have severe eczema and was sleeping in oven mitts to avoid scratching the night before they called to reschedule, but I was hopeful to have a doctor that might actually listen to me. We've been seeing Dr. Dooms for about 12 years or so. Great experience always! Thanks for helping us know the best ways to keep our son safe and for always being in the know about how to get the medications we need at the best rates.
Waited 11 months to be seen, only to find out the day before my appt that he does not cover the issue I was referred for. Really disappointed that I was not given a heads up before, especially since they called early this week to verify the tests that would be done. Do not recommend.
Update: The office went out of their way to fix a lot of the issues I had. They’ve made scheduling recurring appointments and Rx authorizations much easier and more manageable, which I very much appreciate. … I've seen both Dr. Dooms and Dr. Knutson who are excellent. However, I do not recommend this office due to their support staff. Each time I interact with them, be it a simple appointment, scheduling, prior authorizations, Rx refills, or other routine healthcare requests, it is a total nightmare. I really don't understand why he's so highly rated. I went to him because of that and I don't get it at all. First of all, he seems to have a god complex. He spent the majority of my appt talking about how great and smart he was. Wtf?? He barely let me get in a word edgewise my entire appt. So I'm not sure how he expected to treat me when he wouldn't even let me talk to tell him what was going on.
