I checked out Kettle on Grand recently for lunch and found it to be a charming establishment. I visited the location on Grand Avenue in Escondido; there is another location in Fallbrook. The shop looks really nice inside, thoughtfully decorated, albeit somewhat uncomfortable chairs. I elected to sit at the bar but still had to order at the counter, that’s ok. Stopped by Kettle on Grand for a quick coffee and pastry and was seriously impressed. The espresso was excellent—smooth, rich, and clearly made by someone who knows what they’re doing. The chocolate croissant was on another level—honestly the most chocolate I’ve ever had in a croissant. Packed all the way through, rich without being overwhelming, and perfectly flaky on the outside. Even without trying a full meal, the quality really stood out. Great vibe, friendly service, and a spot I’ll definitely be coming back to.
The place has the worst service ever. Food is amazing, but the people at the register and the people making the food aren't really what you pay for. The didn't make the order according to preferences, even though you paid extra for these preferences. Drinks arrived cold too.
Food was awful; large cuts of tomato and onion on the lox ; on the Avacado toast they put shredded cheese not heated with tomato cut in half ; bread was lost; ice latte was good
