We rescued a dog on Knudsen and Olive today from possibly being killed. These SOBs would not accept it because we live in the city and not the county. On top of it, they threaten us with arrest if we left the dog with them to care for. Formal complaint will be filed. We pay kern county property taxes.

They have a great foster program. If you have any time on your hands and it’s in your heart to do so I recommend being a foster parent. They have a lot of baby kittens that need to be fostered and of course many loving dogs. Just be prepared to maybe fall hard for one of these little angels and end up adopting them in the end. Lol It’s very easy to do. The staff are very hard working and I appreciate them all, and all the volunteers also. Thank you all ♥️Barry and Marla

A group of really hard-working animal loving individuals work at Kern County animal shelter I personally foster there for that reason because of all of the genuine love and concern and support that pours out of them. Some people say negative things about them but until you have fostered rescued volunteered or worked there you don’t understand the emotional toll it takes on the people who volunteer foster rescue and work in that facility I just have so much love and respect for all of them
