To be up front, I really don't like having dentistry work done. Dr. Poulsen's office does a great job and that is why I have been going there for 20 years. I get the typical cleaning, a couple of cavities, a crown and custom mouth guard for teeth clenching. They are not the cheapest, but really close. The value is high. They don't take insurance, but most policies cover about the same whether you are in-network or not. I am self employed and dental insurance is unafforable. I have never had a problem with Poulsen but the last time I went in was to have a potential cavity looked at. I ended up needing a root canal and he gave me a very hard time about. He emphasized over and over again that had I come in sooner it wouldn't have been necessary. At the time my family had no insurance and very low funds so I was hesitant to mention any teeth pain. Dr. Poulsen's attentive and skilled care, his good listening, and his philosophy of choosing the least invasive method of treatment are why I like him so much! Very friendly, long-time staff is another plus. I wouldn't choose anyone else.
Dr. Poulsen is the best dentist me and my husband have ever been to. He is highly skilled, he had done crowns and implants for us and is amazing at finding solutions. Once, when I was not able to have a filling due to pain, he researched and found the anesthetic that made the procedure a success. He also has a great personality and always has time to have a chat.
