I had knee surgery on February 2, 2023. It has been almost 7 weeks and I still can't bend my knee to 120° I'm not sure what is going on, but as of right now I am not very happy.
Dr Carpenter fully replaced my left hip joint and had I known it would be as easy and nearly pain free I would have done it a couple of years sooner.
Dr Carpenter has done total knee replacement on both my knees. This was a few years ago. Both knees are pain free after being bone-on-bone for over 10 years. He is so nice and easy going. Would highly recommend him.
Dr Carpenter is so nice, so helpful. He explains things in a way that can be easily understood. He never takes my aches lightly. He has done both of my knees and they are now great. After walking bone-on-bone for around 10 years there is now no pain and both legs are now straight. In my opinion, Dr Carpenter is the best.
Very caring good bed side manor explains to your level of understanding very recommend he replace my right knee and is working on right shoulder
Doctor Carpenter did surgery on my 4 year olds broken elbow. Him and his staff were amazing. He broke his other elbow while out of state. We were at a University hospital and they were very impressed with the healing of the elbow Dr Carpenter fixed and were accepting to him taking over the care of the new broken elbow. We never have to wait long and if we do he apologizes. I know when we were there having to talk a 4 year old through cast coming off and pins it does take some time.
Excellent bedside manner from entire Carpenter team. Dr.Carpenters"Veteran to Veteran" communication experience lends itself greatly to the nightmare of VA sponsored outsourced health care and the myriad of issues that plague a surgery for example right up to and beyond the day of surgery! Dr. Carpenter is a "tuff" tell it like it is pro....with the caveats "you dont follow the plan" your surgery outcome will be compromised and less than stellar. This part I can believe. MSgt E. First visit fine, but second visit was the worst - knee injection with no local. He joked about tough air force pilots being wimpy about the injections. It was the worst experience ever with a physician - excruciating. I've had similar injection since with a different physician, local first, virtually painless. I'd never recommend this physician.
I would not recommend this Dr. He did surgery on my ankle two years ago. The incision opened after surgery and he refused to go back and repair it. I finally had to take butterfly bandages myself to get the wound to close. Two years later, the wound has reopened and Dr. Carpenter REFUSES to see me. This is a Dr. who WILL NOT stand behind his work. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy.
