I have been seeing Dr. Chavez for years, just like my Father was. Skin surgeries or freezing pre-cancerous spots, he knows what he is doing.
He is always friendly and professional. He has an awesome sense of humor and teases thee grandkids when they go with me.
Kelly is amazingly quick and painless. His nurse is very skilled and gives absolutely painless injections to numb the area thoroughly before biopsy. I have never had to wait long in the office to see him. The staff appear well organized and seem to work well together as a team. If you don’t like wasting your day away in the doctor’s office waiting to be seen, Kelly is definitely the guy to see.
Kelly Chavez misdiagnosed a melanoma on my arm. He froze it twice (six months between visits) and after more than a year since first calling it to his attention (the second time, after expressing my concerns, he said "That doesn't look like cancer to me."). Mr. Chavez seemed intent on freezing whatever I had on my body and getting out of the room. I believe his haste contributed to his misdiagnosis. Though he seems like a nice guy, You want is someone that can recognize a possible melanoma.
