I was just retaliated by USC **** Medical staff. I was told to come in today for a procedure. Given my autism, staff have been repeatedly told that I need both subtitles and clear, explicit instructions. Today, I come to my appointment, and ** told I dont have one. I show the email clearly indicating and ** told it was cancelled. I mentioned nobody informed me and the expectation is that my procedure happen today.I am then visited by ***********************. I've been in ***'s care for over two years now, and am proud to say I am a cancer survivor. While the quality of care at *** is amazing the operation regarding insurance approvals could not be worse or more frustrating. Every single procedure, scan, or medication administration we've had requires hours of arguing with their approvals teams to get insurance the requisite information to deem things medically necessary. I was trying to get a surgery done on my lymph nodes called lymphedema. The problem is the coordinator of the doctor who intakes all the information about the patient and helps them get ready for the it. I sent all the necessary forms and tests to the coordinator except the test that confirms the swelling in my legs called lumphoscintigraphy. I was trying to get into the kidney transplant program. But after two years of doing everything they asked me to do, back and forth, they just up and closed my case. They clearly are not interested in helping people. DO NOT believe those commercials that say they care about their patients. I was trying to work with them for two years. I would call them to get an update, they would say they would call me back, and they didn't. This happened constantly. I would alway have to call back again and again. Underwent Achilles debridement surgery by Dr Eric Tan of usc orthopedic dept. I cant say enough good things about him or the whole orthopedic department. He's taken w genuine interest in my well being. He regularly calls and checks up on my progress. His office staff is second to none as well. Isabel, his patient coordinator, is exceptional at following up with any matter.
