I saw him about 5 years ago specifically for a skin cancer check because high degree of skin cancer in my family history. I asked specifically about a red patch on my face that had been there a few years at that time. He glanced at it, said it's keratosis, and said, "no need to worry." He did not tell me that, while not skin cancer, areas of keratosis have a high risk of turning into skin cancer. He didn't tell me to have it checked periodically. He said "not cancer."
