I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience working and living next to Deven Stross (Property Manager for KBC) at 2510 NE 11th & 12th Ave. My son and I lived here for years, first in a one bedroom and then in a two bedroom apartment. We would not have been able to move into the two bedroom with out Deven's support. Deven always looked out for my son and I and we always felt safe and supported because of his support. I have never written a review for a management company before, however I feel I need to warn people about this company. I rented at 819 NW 23rd ave apartments for one year. The problem came with move out. They gave me a long list of things to clean before move out, I did so. Spent hours cleaning. They charged me 45 dollars for cleaning the carpets and it was never stated that they needed to be steam cleaned upon exit. Upper management is pretty unjustifiably arrogant, rude, disrespectful to their tenants, and have a terrible business model. Most of their buildings are out of date, unisulated, and receive nothing more then a slathering of cliche home depot level touches. For all this you get high rent, high turnover rate, as well as a high turnover of building managers, and no answeres from the top.

I usually do not write reviews. However, I feel like other potential renters should understand WHY not to rent from KBC. At first it seemed great! Cool apartment, good price, nice neighborhood, etc. Then right before you sign your lease they tack on extra utility bills in addition to monthly rent. They also require renters's insurance for pets. I live at Trinity Place and the Walls are paper thin. You have neighbors that constantly play the guitar and sing, or stomp around all night above you. We have talk with apartment manager several times and he doesn't seem to care sine it continues to happen. I work abnormal hours as well as my girlfriend, so it is impossible to get any sleep. I dread coming home after work knowing I will have to listen to our nieghbors rock out all day and night. I would highly recommend to find another place to live to anyone looking to liv... read more

I must say I feel like I need to share my positive KBC experience to balance out what I've read here. KBC is a good property management company in my opinion. Many of their buildings are from the early 20th Century and have a lot of character. Of course, being older, they do need periodic maintenance and that is something this company is very good at addressing. KBC Managment – Ever feel like an unwelcome guest in your own home? If you answered YES then perhaps you have lived at the La Bonita. The onsite manager at this KBC property is extreme in her diligence as a manager. Ridiculous would be a more accurate desctiption of her style. Don't waste your money – KBC Management treats their tenants like children. Our building manager was always coming up with new rules and posting notices. It was like living in the dorms! We were asked to leave at the end of our lease with no explanation and never received any warnings. We asked why and never got an answer. We are quiet tenants and always paid our rent on time.
