Of the several restaurants in Japantown, this is one of the most authentic, and it is the only one with tatami rooms. The waitresses wear kimonos and the sushi chefs are always engaged in some sort of banter. All give great service. Guests can eat solo at the sushi bar, or it can be a great place for larger parties. Lunch specials are great, and there are a huge variety of Japanese appetizers available for dinner. Go for the Eel Donburi.

The shrimp tempura udon was great! The shiru was sooooo tasty. The inari sushi and California roll were very good. We were served by a waitress, who was so friendly and efficient. She explained to us how the chef makes his own dashi for the udon and ramen. Excellent customer service.
Not a true sushi restaurant. It's a mass production assembly line that takes no pride in the the process or end result. Rolls are not tight or round just so so. Disappointed in Japan town. Thought we would have premier sushi but was let down. Belleville IL has a restaurant called Sake. They could take a few lessons from them!!

Food here was good and service is excellent!!! Order family boat and it was huge and we are all happy because our tummy got full.
