About this business

For more than a 100 years, this huge cafeteria-style Jewish deli has been delighting New Yorkers with their pastrami and brisket sandwiches alongside their scrumptious "kosher-style" meals. The humble eatery, with Formica tables lined up in rows, may not be the ideal place to take a date (unless you want to remind him or her of eating in a school lunchroom), but if you are craving a giant sandwich served with perfect pickles or a couple of kosher hot dogs, there is perhaps no better place than Katz's in the city. New York's original Underground Gourmets, described some 50 years ago as a living, breathing Brueghel painting. Yes, the pastrami & corned beef are hand-sliced & usually terrific. A little over priced

A must-see, brilliant for photos. Classic american diner. $20 pastrami sandwich is best shared, just ask them to cut it - we split it 3 ways easily! And it really was incredibly delicious.

Awesome experience.. but crazy overpriced! Really cool place with loads of history. Even the locals eat here. Don't forget to tip the cutter (like it's some big secret) the tip jar was overflowing.

El pastrami, corn beef; ya sea normal o Reubens, espectaculares.... el brisket se desbarata en la boca; mejor imposible! La sopa q trae un como "tamal" en ella también está buenísima!
