The worst property company to involve yourself with. My boyfriend, his friend and I just wanted to tour the apartment complex and put it as an option for a potential living space and they had us put in an application ( which at the time we did not know was a lease agreement) and we had all signed it. We were not aware that it was a lease agreement and didn’t even have to go through security and credit check. I spent the last 2 months trying to get them to issue my deposit refund. I was literally 1 day away from filing in court when they realized I hadn't renewed my lease. The lack of a valid lease did not prevent them from withdrawing rent, which I was able to successfully dispute with my bank. While I was still living there, they wouldn't reply to maintenance requests, they were frequently out of office during work hours, the halls were not kept clean, and the landscaping looked to be slowly getting overgrown.

I live in the Newbury Place Apartments in Oak Creek, WI. The buildings were bought out by Kats around 6 months ago, and it is not going well. We used to have 3 maintenance workers, now we have one. There were three people working the office, we now have one. The rent for a one bedroom went from around $750 up to around $1,100 overnight! Many of our tenants are on a fixed income, and cannot afford the increase. They offer no new amenities to show for the rent increase; not that it would justify the price gouge.
