Love it here! Great service, good food, good ambiance. I love the outside area. Its comfortable and trendy. You are able to sit comfortably and stay warm with the heaters.
OK. But not 5 stars... – This place is over rated! It is more about the atmosphere than the food. The food is ok but not great. The prices are WAY too much! The spicy tuna on rice is like a rubber with spicy tomatoes. Adamame are too salty. The only dish I like is there fried onions with Albacore. Overall 2 stars. Don't forget the parking at LA Live is $20 + dollars!
Great sushi, especially for a "chain" – So maybe not a chain, but I know there's a few Katsuya's around town. I would recommend anything, but I stayed on the raw side and loved the Rock Shrimp Tempura roll, as well as the Yellowtail and Scallo... read more
GET THE BAKED SALMON – I was recently in town on vacation and decided to stop through Katsuya in Downtown L.A. with my wife. I'm not one much for sushi, but the wife ranted and raved about every dish she tried, especially the yellowtail and California rolls. I opted for a slightly more traditional Baked Salmon dish, and it f... read more
SBE's super sleek sushi spot goes downtown at L.A. Live. – L.A.'s sceniest sushi house has finally gone downtown with this enormous space that continues the collaboration between sushi chef Katsuya Uechi and designer Philippe Starck. Paying homage to the traditional bento box with lots of black and red (including the um, carpet), the palette here is much darker than the other three locations, save for the flat screen TVs scattered about and the huge outdoor area that glows beneath the vibrant lights of Nokia Theater. Still, ... read more
