Karen did not fight for me- she wouldn't push my x to get documents or tell the truth. Instead she said "I don't want to get sued for malpractice" because the x was diagnosis with mental illness. The true malpractice was the way she forced me to settle for less than what I should have gotten--yes, she would have gone to court but I had to come up with close to $50,000 more than the $14, 000 I had already paid her. I had Karen represent me in a case about 6 years ago. Custody dispute. I'll never forget as we left negotiations, paper work signed, she said to me on the side walk " I think you could have gotten more (custody) time". I asked her if it was too late and told pretty much yes. Why as my lawyer if you were thinking that did you not stop me before and say "no don't sign".
