Just wanted to give a heartfelt shout-out to the absolutely incredible care I received from Dr. Karly Kaplan and Dr. Elizabeth Pontarelli. From pre-op through surgery and into post-op care, I was treated with such professionalism, skill, and most importantly—compassion. I’m truly grateful for everything they did to support me during this journey.
I met Dr. Kaplan two weeks post tummy tuck, ab repair, breast lift and implant swap that was done in Tijuana. I had complications (infection in stomach and left breast and my incision opened.I required a 6 day hospitalization, several rounds of IV Antibiotic and a wound vac. Almost a month post op I had to remove my left breast implant. I was followed by Dr. Kaplan for my wound care and ultimately my implant replacement. I have immense gratitude for Dr. Kaplan and her amazing team at Kaiser! I always felt supported and heard, and my mind put at ease, during one of the most challenging times in my life. Because Dr Kaplan is a responsive and extremely knowledgeable surgeon, I always felt I was in the most capable and skilled of hands!
It’s been a long time but I haven’t moved past how Dr Kaplan treated me. I want to say I forgive her. Hopefully after leaving this review I can move on. She made me feel guilty for wanting to look normal after mastectomy. I asked if I could look normal. I was 45 and still wanted a normal looking breast. She told me I should just be happy I am alive. Dr. Kaplan is one of the most sweetest, knowledgeable, and kind doctors I have ever met in my life. She was my surgeon for a breast reduction and she eased all of my nerves the day of surgery, and listened to my concerns and needs. I am so grateful and blessed to have had my surgery with her.
