Bring the whole family!! I felt that KC's offered a great menu and good service. The food was great and the service was fantastic. Great Food.. GREAT food. I've been looking for a good BBQ place ever since I moved to California from KC (which is home to the BEST bbq ever) but nothing ever measures up. Delicious food!! I usually only make it to San Diego once a year during comic-con. This has always been a place that my friends and I have have to visit. Last year, I was really disappointed because it had burned down but this year I am soooo jazzed! I love the lunch and dinner combos. I'm a carnivore and as far as I'm concerned the more meat, the better. I really don't care that Top Gun was filmed there. I go there for the food. I had a blast there!! This rating is NOT for food, as I didn't eat there but purely for the drinks! Okay, so shoot me, I've never seen Top Gun (although after I went to KC BBQ, I was finally inspired to rent it). Have great service!! I highly disagree! I don't think we are talking about the same place here because Kansas City BBQ was my all time favorite restaurant..before it burned down :( They have always had great service and their BBQ sauce is the best you can get anywhere along with their specially cooked onions rings! So, I don't know what that other person was talking about because to me, it gets 5 stars. (or more if that was possible)
Nice location Id recommend the pork sandwich and the onion rings as a side. i think its like 6 bucks but lots of homemade rings and pork sandwich is tender lean shredded meat. nice location for sitting outside and eating or drinking. has outdoor smoking section. hang your bra on the fan in the bar
Impressed with the remodel!! It looks like a big upgrade at least as far as the food is concerned. I had the pulled pork and brisket combo with onion rings and beans. They said they upgraded from sliced pork to pulled pork and sliced beef to a brisket. It is much improved and tasted great. The rings and beans were good as always. Gotta love it! if you are a meat eater and a beer drinker, this might be the place for you. Actually, if you want to be downtown, but stay away from the hussle and bustle of the city's bars (not to mention all the people only concerned about hooking up with someone and looking pretty), you should go to KC Barbeque. I mean, come on: the nostalgia of Top Gun, one of them fancy internet juke boxes, some chicken wings and cheap beer. Gotta love it. Jeanna
Awesome BBQ food!! Awesome BBQ food. This is place is famous for the taping of the TOP GUN movie. REAL fresh BBQ food. I had the Tri Tip sandwich and I'll be back again for more. I totally recomend this place. Tina
