They have a lgbtq+ safe space sticker on the door, that place is anything but. I was called a freak and the same man verbally threatened me, right in front of mellisa fett, (the best isk worker ever) she completely took his side, even though he lunged at me and she had to hold him back. Kicked me out and let him taunt me from a distance as I waited for the police to arrive. Shame on you mellisa and oakland house!
It's a shelter with a mental health base, a place to stay to help get on your feet. Staff are ko0l people, will talk to you and assist you as long as you show the same respect.. Just remember they are not there to serve you but, to help you. They understand you are going through something so, you don't have to be rude. They help with housing, you have to prove your looking for housing also, one on one conversations with your assigned counselor.
