Kaiser Permanente is a scam! Do not buy their insurance if you plan on needing anything other than care for a cold. They will wait until the last second and deny your coverage or cancel your appointment after you have waited 3-6 months to see someone. They are actively trying to kill me again as I post this and will not let me see a surgeon or do anything except send me a Radiologist report that the tumor has returned in my head. Sarah Herron was wonderful. It felt like she really cared. She took the time to listen and I left feeling heard and supported.
The biggest problem is that they aggressively push patients who take medication for complicated conditions to go back to being only seen by their primary care provider, with the promise that your doctor can consult with them if they need to. But my doctor felt it was too complex for him to act as the middleman and made a referral back to behavioral health. When I called the referral line, they said that I was now considered a brand new behavioral health patient and I had to wait weeks or more for an "initial" visit with a th... read more
