Very well educate. If you prefer a doctor who is very friendly/fuzzy I would not recommend. She is to the point and you may walk away feeling like you were scolded your entire visit.
Dr Kahwaty was excellent in explaining everything she was doing and why she was doing it.She is very personable and caring. My wife and I both had exams and were very pleased.
Very intelligent with the ability to explain the science of optics and fitting prescriptions so that you can match your expectations to the desired results.
I have been going to Dr. Kahwaty for about 4 years now but wearing contacts and glasses for 40 years (living in Nj only 14 of those 40) My vision is very difficult to correct with a bad astigmatism. Dr Kahwaty was the only doctor who ever told me that I needed to line up my contacts in a certain way before putting them in my eyes in order to see best with my astigmatism. Dr. Kahwaty was so rude. I she asked if I wear my contacts for several days and I replied no I were dailies, She responded with "I can read" and then went on to explain some people wear it for longer. There was no need to be rude about it. Then after all that she asks of medical history and explains she can't see me because of it. I'm going to a new place where they said they've never heard of such an excuse not to see a patient. Don't recommend her. Very poor beside manner.
Dr. Kahwaty was absolutely fabulous when I saw her - and I quickly sent my husband for an appt the following week as well! No waiting and everything just went so smoothly. She has a wonderful way of connecting to patients in a short period of time and gave some great advice with regards to my vision/some things that I needed to start paying more attention to. Came out with a new Rx for contacts and glasses and am now seeing better than ever!
I have not been examined in years but knew there was a problem. I was referred to Dr. Kahwaty by a number of friends. She made sure I understood everything and showed me the prescriptions that she was giving me to make sure I was comfortable - I am so appreciative.
This was the best eye exam that I have ever had! I have been wearing contact lenses since I was 12 but recently I have not been able to wear them – it was very frustrating. Dr Kahwaty was able to see what the problem was and fit me with new contacts and now I have no problems at all. She did not write the prescription until she knew that I was comfortable and I wasn’t having any more issues. I tell everybody that I know this is where you need to go for your eye exam.
Do not come to this unprofessional place! I scheduled 3 weeks in advance and came right on time, but the receptionist rolled his eyes at me and told me I must not have scheduled correctly. I had to wait 45 minutes! I was trying to get a contact prescription and although I requested to get Acuvue or Dailies as my eyes are sensitive to most other lenses, I got OASYS. The prescription was also very weak and I had to go to another optometrist who agreed that my prescription was completely off!
