Dr. Hum was the first specialist I was able to see about my new diagnosis of EOE. Although I had researched the disease, I was unsure of how to partner with Dr. Hum to determine my current status and begin receiving treatment. I finally found a Hepatologist/GI physician, Dr. Hum who provided an excellent interest in my health. Dr. Hum discovered through testing that was never requested by my previous physician. She discovered that my liver is not doing well which explains the pain in my upper right quadrant (Right side just under the ribs). Dr. Hum informed me that my internal organs are not well due to a history of Hepatitis C (HCV) exposure as a Public Service worker.
