We can't say enough good things about Eleanor and Just Short of Magic. From the moment we arrived, straight off a couple of long flights from New Zealand, we were treated like family. The Mid winter north Alaska cold was made better by the log burner in our yurt and Eleanor's fabulous hospitality . We loved Fairbanks as a town but Just Short of Magic is exactly the right distance from it to ensure that you get clear views of the Northern Lights with zero light pollution. Go there Mid Winter and enjoy an outdoor shower - you ... read more
Unforgettable moments. I was there in February 2015 with my nephew Fernando Bustamante M.
My daughter loved being able to pet and play with the amazing dogs and the ride was spectacular!
A must visit top of the list activity in Fairbanks. Eleanor and her huskies are amazing. This was a magical couple of hours spending time with them, learning about mushing and lots of interaction with the huskies. Our only regret was not being able to spend longer there. If you really want to learn and experience one of Alaskas great sports in a down to earth, hands on way this is it. Nothing was too much trouble and Eleanors enthusiasm and love for her huskies was amazing.
Loved every minute of our experience. Everyone was so friendly
Scratch "dog sled ride" off the ole "bucket list"! My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The dogs were very friendly and obviously VERY well taken care of. The trail though the spruce and white birch forest was absolutely beautiful, even at 25 below zero. Who knew you could have so much fun when it was so cold! (We are from Southern California, where we say its "freezing" when the temperature dip into the 50's!). Our experience was NOTHING SHORT OF MAGIC!! Gary and Collette Lee
Absolutely stunning!! Everyone was so kind and enthusiastic. The dogs were SO sweet and very well cared-for. The trail was gorgeous, and part of it goes on the Yukon Quest trail! I would love to go again, it was truly magical. :)
Amazing dogs and a great dog musher!!!
Such a wonderful experience! Eleanor is the BEST! This was my first time in AK and to be able to dog sled was beyond amazing! What a breathtaking experience! I would recommend Eleanor and Just Short of Magic to anyone!
