The agent, Doris, sent my partner’s social security number *in plain text* to his boss. Along with his salary and his date of birth. To “verify” his income. And then before his boss could reply, she approved his application. She demanded a $500 “holding fee” on Venmo with no lease, no receipt, nothing. I would be cautious about renting through a realtor at this agency. I viewed an apartment in Oakland and submitted an application. Communication was slow, but more concerning was that the realtor sent my employment verification, which included my Social Security number, directly to my employer without my consent. That was the first red flag. Before my employment could even be confirmed, the realtor asked me via email to send $500 via Venmo to the owner of Andersen and Jung, stating that a lease would be generated afterward. ... read more
I highly agree with Scott in the post before me. This experience working with Jung Anderson & Co was the worst property management experience I've had to date and I have lived and worked with 10+ Apt. landlords in the past 2 decades. The only positive experience I had with them was my move out day which was handled professionally. Otherwise, every phone call and email was like pulling teeth. Beware, and save yourself the headache of renting from this property manager.
Andersen, Jung & Co. took over managing the building that my small business is in last year for only a few months. In that time, they transferred all utility bills under their name without telling the commercial tenants. I only found out because when I went to pay our water bill I was told I didn't have an account which up until that point I'd been paying our utility bills for that previous 3 years.
