I HAD AN APPOINTMENT AT MEDSTAR GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL. MY APPOINTMENT WAS WITH DR. CUNNINGHAM. DR. CUNNINGHAM IS AN ONCOLOGIST THERE. EVERYONE INVOLVED IN MY APPOINTMENT WAS WONDERFUL. BEGINNING WITH THE SHUTTLE BUS DRIVER TO THE SECURITY, STAIGHT THROUGH TO EVERYONE IN THE OFFICE. A KIND HELPFUL WOMAN HELPED ME SIGN IN. THE WONDERFUL NURSES WHO DO BLOOD SAMPLES ARE ALWAYS FANTASTIC. THE ATTENDENT WHO TOOK MY VITAL SIGN WAS SPLENDID. DR. CUNNINGHAM HAS BEEN TREATING ME FOR SEVERAL YEARS. I was so impressed by Dr. Cunningham. She had read my chart and history thoroughly and used them as the basis for a meaningful and compassionate discussion of what may be going on. She followed that up with an order for blood work, so she can base her recommendations on science and facts. The staff was friendly, self-assured, and helpful. I know that going back to a hematologist is not anyone’s idea of fun. But, if you have to go, go to Dr.Cunningham at Medstar Georgetown! You’ll be in good hands.
Dr. Cunningham is excellent. She is personable yet professional, she listens, she takes the time to answer questions, she anticipates issues that may pop up down the road and she has a wonderful manner. I couldn't recommend her more highly.
