At one point, I would have said she was the best neurologist and caring, but something changed over the past few years. I came to her with a diagnosis outside of neurology because I needed approval for a care plan, and she told me it was wrong and wouldn't work with the professional who diagnosed me. Now, I'm still two years out of the other diagnosis and struggling without treatment. She also lectured me about how I didn't listen to something she said...when she had never said it! It was bizarre that, as an adult, I was bei... read more

I was seen in the er for consistent dizziness and severe numbness down my arms and in my hands and they told me to follow up with a neurologist asap. I got a appointment with Joyce and 2 days later her office called and said that they cancelled my appointment because she felt my issue was not needed to be addressed by a neurologist and I had to see a pain management doctor instead. She obviously did not look over my chart enough to see I was refereed and had ongoing neurological issues.

She was very condescending and rude. I did not appreciate her bedside manner. I would not recommend her. I have taken my family members to multiple physicians before and she is the absolute worst.

This neurologist is horrible. Does not care about patients and is very condescending. Does not respect patients or understand their concern for their health. Scheduled an appointment to see her for neurologic related issue and she was just nasty. She eventually realized I was not happy and disgusted by the comments she made and was more careful about what she said. I would not return. I would give her 0/5 stars if it was possible.

Terrible. She told me because I saw another Penn neurologist once on a video visit (who was awful also (Dr Halpern) ) that she couldn't see me. And she told me the day before the scheduled appointment. Considering some of the experiences I read on here, I think God spared me from being this woman's patient.

Would not recommend. First of all, she seemed to care more about me getting vaccinated than my brain healing.., I was there to see a neurologist not an epidemiologist. Second off, when I was explaining to her why I was sitting in front of her in her office, she asked no questions and just expected me to know exactly what details she was looking for. Just like everyone else, I'm no mind reader. However, when I would leave something out she would say, "Well I wasn't there. I don't know what happened. You have to tell me." Well... read more

Never go to Dr Liporace, unless you are looking for a careless doctor.

Would not recommend at all. Would have given zero stars if I could. She is more concerned about staying on schedule than taking time to listen to the patient. When we wanted to show her a video that my wife did when I was having a seizure, her comment was "I've seen a seizure before". During the approximately 1-1/2 years that I was her patient, I had at least 28 seizures (she dismissed them as probably caused by anxiety. If you need to see someone for epilepsy , go to the Jefferson Clinic.
