Can’t say enough about Mike and his crew at Joy Builders. He has renovated 2 offices (soon to be 3) and 2 homes. I have nothing but praise. Super fastidious and meticulous about the work he does!!!!! Highly Highly recommend!

It’s important to remember that not all home renovations are about simply making things look nicer through new floors and countertops. In many cases, renovating your home can create additional space in the rooms that need it most.

Real estate agents say a renovated kitchen is one of the biggest selling points with home buyers and can increase the value of your home by as much as 20 to 30 percent.

Stone flooring-such as granite, limestone, marble, or slate-is beautiful, durable, and darned near indestructible. However, it's expensive and rather difficult to maintain. It also tends to be cold and hard on the feet.

Many homes already have plastic laminate countertops - perhaps best known by the market name Formica. These countertops come in plenty of colors and are tough and long-lasting.

One of the most common home renovation projects is a room addition. This is usually a lot more practical for a growing family than moving would be. Adding square footage to your existing home not only makes it more comfortable, but it will also increase your home’s value.

While you're renovating, it's a great time to introduce some money saving -- and eco-friendly -- updates. Here are a few you might want to consider: Insulate your attic, ductwork and pipes; Install a low flow toilet.

Wondering when your new house will feel like a home? Renovating a bathroom, kitchen or other room to make it more attractive, comfortable and functional is one way to make a property feel homier.
