dr Brown is a wonderful doctor.
Avoid Josh Brown. He was our doctor for 6-7 years, mainly seen by my husband. Over time he got increasingly hard to contact. When my husband was in the ICU some years ago, Josh was very hard to reach -- told me to just sit in his office (which took an hour) until he had time to chat (which took 5 minutes). Later, when my husband took a bad turn one day, Josh Brown behaved unconscionably and, in my opinion, unscrupulously. He never even called when my husband died. I dropped him after all this.
Dr. Brown is an intelligent and caring physician. Yes, sometimes he's busy. He's busy trying to offer people same day primary care access that is otherwise limited in the town of Santa Fe. I think that's a great thing when in general there are less and less appointments available with primary physicians. He does follow up with results and really does his best to communicate with patients, in my opinion.
Hold on to your wallet. I went in and asked for an annual physical, having been explicitly told that ACA policies cover this at no cost. Now I have a bill of almost $700 to pay, AFTER insurance, because they tacked on all sorts of services under their "Heartwise" program that are not covered. Never did they mention the cost. Later research shows this is a widely practiced scam. They should have been honest with me. Fool me once - see ya.
Dr. Brown has been my PCP for over ten (10) years. In my book, he's the best: caring, intelligent, skilled at diagnosis, and possesses a wonderful bedside manner. For the Santa Fe, NM region, I highly recommend he and his practice for your IM/PCP needs. Melanie M.
