Dr. Demer worked with my son in 1997, and was with us every step of our journey. Posting this in 2025 bc we are still talking about how lucky we were to have found him.
Best eye doctor
I heard from many other professionals that Dr. Demer is the best of the best. Unfortunately his bedside manner is horrible. I’m not sure why he works in pediatrics because he doesn’t appear to like kids. In a field where you will likely work with many special needs kids. I would expect a doctor to have more patience. This is a truly awful experience, find a private practice where they value patients and their time. Dr Demer runs a pediatric office and yet the average wait time for child appointments is THREE hours. We have been to four visits across two years and it is the same experience each and every time. The waiting room is jammed with crying children whose eyes are dilated and vision blurry while their parents try to entertain them for hours on end, waiting for an exam room and the one doctor available. No question Dr Demer is a renowned pediatric ophthalmologist. He's well respect by his peers. My issue, which has been brought up by previous patients, is the insufferable wait times purposely structured by Dr Demer. Appointments are booked two every 15 minutes starting at 7:30am. Of course Dr Demer spends what he considers the appropriate amount of time with each patient. As well he should. But, this invariably leads to 2-3 hours plus to complete an appointment.
