Had cataract surgery on both eyes in October. The doctor explained everything very well. Made me feel comfortable in the surgical room. Everything about the outpatient surgery facility and especially the staff was fantastic. I was not afraid at all. I was made to feel very comfortable before the surgery. The anesthesiologist came in and said hello to me and to make sure which EYE we were doing first. Dr Neilitz said hi to me asked how I was and explained what I was doing in the first room. Dr Neilitz is highly professional, caring, a very good listener, and I respect him more than any other physician I have had in my life. He never, ever rushes me. He always answers my questions. He has always been gentle and kind through 8 years of my very devastating eye problems. I see him every month. He is open to researching new ideas and treatments. I hope that he never leaves the clinic in my lifetime.

Dr. Neilitz and al the medical team are so excellent. I feel a bit guilty about this review: but the billing Dept. is atrocious! Ascension billing dept. receives and cashes large checks and afterward fails to acknowledge their receipt of payment. You might be better off simply not paying the bill at all, b/c after you have paid and your payment is not acknowledged as received, you will still have the same problem with your credit rating! Friend saw Dr Neilitz for covid related double vision. He was quick to recommend surgeries to correct, was reassuring said I will see you through this. He did not see her through it She has some issues that are not going away. She went to another doctor, only to be told the opposite of what Dr Neilitz told her. To be told your not going to get your normal vision back by other staff members as well as Neilitz, left me thinking how arrogant the medical field has become. Dr. Neilitz is professional but he not warm or friendly. Mostly he's just in a hurry. He did not like me asking questions and gave me the shortest answer he could or just laughed and didn't answer at all. He's very aloof like talking to a patient is beneath him. He speaks very softly and is difficult to hear. He did nothing to alleviate my fear. When I was diagnosed with glaucoma the day of my first appointment with him I felt calm. Every appointment has been great with him. He does not make you feel like a "number". He listens to his patients. 100%+ trust with him. Caring, personable and intelligent.
