Dr. Joe performed my second total knee surgery on 8-25-20. Going to Dr. Joe is like dealing with a trusted family member. Indeed he is part of the "family business" and comes from talented orthopedists. I appreciate the "best practices" he has establish for his patients. His support team will provide you with a detailed booklet that will explain the overall process. After recommending surgery, no explanations of what to expect after surgery as far as recovery, crutches, or rehab. No paperwork of post op rehab or movement recommendations. No follow up or phone call after surgery. Just scheduled a follow up two weeks after surgery. Not as thorough of a surgeon as I expected, especially from reading the other reviews. I had a knee replacement just 8 weeks ago and could not be more pleased. Dr. Joe is great at his profession. I need to have my other knee done and plan to do so in a few months . I wouldn't trust anybody else but dr. Joe. The office staff are so nice and helpful especially Chad with the great sense of humor.

Dr. Joe has got to be the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I've had 3 knee surgeries all done by Dr. Joe. His professionalism and expertise are second to none. He is excellent in what he does and truly has a desire to do well by his patient. Very down to earth and willing to tell you the tough truth if he feels as though you need to hear it to improve. HIGHLY recommend!

Dr. Assenmacher is a superb and well trained surgeon. Quite frankly Toledo is fortunate to have him and his. I received a total knee replacement in February and was worried about the length of recovery. Happily I have made a great recovery, the pain is going and my mobility is excellent. Much of this can be contributed to excellent surgery skills, detailed communications and an obvious concern for the well being of his patient. He is simply one of the best along with his team

I had not one but two problems with my shoulder. Turns out I had not only a torn rotator cuff but also a torn bicep tendon. Really bad news for a guy who works out , plays the drums and loves to golf. Dr. Joe to the rescue - he had me in and out of the hospital in no time, and with the most professional and kind, caring staff as well. His is a first class operation , which is no doubt why you see all these great reviews ... well except for one. I guess the world is full of Eeyore's

Dr. Joe has done my knee for a meniscus repair and most recently a bicep tendon tear for me. He did such a great job and my knee, sometimes I forget which knee it was. My biceps tendon repair has been outstanding. I would recommend Dr. Joe to all my family and friends

Dr Assenmacher has proved that the radiologists are usually wrong. Twice they read my MRI's and were absolutely wrong. I trust Dr Joe's opinion and would never doubt his judgement. His staff is very courteous and very helpful. Would always recommend his practice.
