I have been a patient within the UCSD Health system for over 20 years, and while I have consistently encountered ultimate professionals, Dr. Joseph Califano exists at a level above and beyond. This cancer doctor refuse to remove small cancer tumor in my nostril entry, because it may grow back he "says". Now tumor is still growing while I find a doctor to cut out tumor. Dr. Califano intentionally put me in a very dangerous position. Cancer doctors are suppose to help their patients.
Dr Califano is the best surgeon I have ever met. I am a former OR nurse and have met many surgeons in my lifetime. He is humble, kind, caring, gentle, thorough and highly skilled in his field. I knew I was in good hands when he performed my surgery. If I can give 10 stars, I would.

Dr. Califano is the most proficient medical professional I have ever met. As a former collegiate football player I have had over 9 surgeries with other surgeons and was raised by a prominent doctor so I have some experience.
