One of the most jarring experiences I've had with a doctor. In my first (and only) visit, explaining my progression of symptoms and tests over the past few years, he interrupted me and said 'So why are you here?' I responded 'I'm getting there, I'm just providing context.' When I finished explaining my scenario, his response was, 'So what do you want me to do?'My response was 'Isn't that what I'm here to find out? What a neurologist would do next?'I was looking for a professional second opinion on concerning neurological sym... read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This doctor actually HUNG UP ON ME during a telehealth call. I expressed my frustration at not being able to be seen for my medication refill without paying the co-pay up front. HE TOLD ME THAT HE WAS NOT A FREE CLINIC AND THAT I COULD GO TO THE FREE MARICOPA CLINIC DOWNTOWN. Mind you I do have health insurance. I just needed him to send a bill to my house. They would not send me a bill nor would the doctor just send in a medication refill. This put me in a position where I would have to go w... read more

Referred to Dr Ocampo by my pcp. He did the sleep study and brain scan and found no markers for Parkinsons. That's where the good new ends. Never read the medical history and tried to wing the followup. Never got the bipap machine he suggested on August. It is now late October and still nothing. This guy is a C- experience at best. Lacks professionalism and follow through.

I've had epilepsy since the age of 13. I'm in my mid-30s now, so I think I know a thing or two about my condition. I'm used to the tests, etc. I grew up in Houston and moved out to Phoenix. I was in need of a new neurologist, ideally near my home. I found Jose and figured to give it a try bc previous neurologists lacked empathy. WELL - he has that, but he gave me false hope saying I could come off epilepsy medication. I was hesitant, so I gave it a week to decide. I called back, expressing interest, and met with his N She lo... read more

Dr. De O’Campo became more abrupt with me, lacked patience. I remember his coffee mug that said “don’t Google your symptoms. I have a medical degree”. Kind of strange to leave that on his desk.

I cannot emphasize enough that you should not go to this doctor. He showed no regard to me as a person - just a $$ patient. He has near zero bed-side manner and seemed annoyed by my presence. Our in office consultation was rushed and nearly nothing was explained to me in common terms. He was late to our online meeting and only was superficially apologetic "I'm sorry, but doctors often run late". He said, "don't bust my balls" when explained that I was frustrated by this and he said that "I should go to a different neurologis... read more

I would recommend not going to De Ocampo. He has zero personal skills, doesn't address any issues, and clearly only cares about one thing, his pocket. Find anyone better.

Dr. De Ocampo has been amazingly responsive and attentive to my complicated needs for 10 years. I highly recommend him.

My husband, caregiver, and I found Dr De Campo ill equipped to address our needs on every level. His communication skills are awful, his personality is arrogant, and his advice regarding supportive care for FSHD muscular dystrophy was unhelpful and rudimentary. A waste of time.
