I urge you not to see Alicea, but Dr Kim instead. Alicea did not communicate with me as an equal. He dismissed my symptoms as “impossible,” did not look me in the eyes, rushed out of the room, and did not offer me any steps toward a diagnosis or healing. My insurance did not agree to cover an MRI and he didn’t appeal it or prescribe the requisite physical therapy that Medicaid had asked for.
