Discrimination against the sick and disabled is noxious here. Being a child and fighting a disease is already enough of a struggle without people actively refusing to care and educate them without personal and private information being handed over. I know because I was one too, and people at my schools also discriminated against me for my illness. YEARS ago. My child who is 7 has Type 1 Diabetes, and attends public school. We received an email stating he CANNOT attend school September 5, 2018 and every day following. Complete discrimination. He has 3 major laws protecting him due to Type 1 Diabetes. Jordan School District is revoking Nursing Services unless I sign their form stating, “the district has access to his personal information, medical records, access to contact his doctor and pharmacy. “ His information may not be kept legally confidential” The form IS voluntary. Great place as long as your child doesn't have any health issues. Not only will your child be denied their 'own' medication, but they're also, apparently, too stupid to get a child, in distress, any help. They'll simply sit there and watch them suffer. I guess rules trump common sense. But, I guess all those cases of elementary kids abusing prescription meds make this necessary. Wait. I virtually can't think of one case of this happening. One more thing... nice to know there's no school nurse on hand.
I couldn't be more grateful to have my kids grow up attending schools in the Jordan School District. Our Administrators, Teachers and Staff are the best to be found. Having the opportunity to work closely with them, I know how hard they work to provide our students with the highest quality education possible. Jordan district is unwilling to help parents out we pay your wages after all and the principal at Rose Creek is also unwilling to help she knows she can run her school any way she wants so she don't care if she hurts a child in the process! Disgusting!
