Our party of 8 had reservations at 8:30pm. When we called to make the reservation, we were very clear that one of our party was my 90 year-old grandmother, and we were celebrating a birthday. The reservation assistant let us know that reservations might take 10-15 minutes to be seated, which I think is pretty standard at any restaurant. The tableclothes and napkins are nice! – I have traveled most of Europe and all of America, I live in Houston and love it and it's eateries!....& Johnathan's is one of the worst I have encountered. Adult Day Care With A Kitchen – the food is "ok" and may even be "outstanding", but last night, it was uneatable. last night, my wife and i were witness to an extremely obnoxious customer at the restaurant, yelling insults at other patrons and making inappropriate slurs of all stripes through out the restaurant. the hostess and jonathan were both unwilling to tell the customer to "behave or leave" and even made the comment "that it was not the restaurant's fault that a customer was being obnoxious." we endured the "whole sho... read more
Jonathan's The Rub MISTAKE – Jonathan's The Rub will forever be remembered by my family and friends as "Houston's trendy dining mistake." Most alarming was the MEAT served which not only shook the entire table as my husband sawed through it, but WAS OLD. FRIGHTENING! Great little joint – Over the years I've watched this shopping center go through multiple transitions. My favorite has been the addition of Jonathons. Just be sure to relax, enjoy the good food, and convo. It's a small place so sometimes takes a little longer but the end result is worth it! The burgers are huge and really good. :)
Wonderful Food and Relaxed Dining – What a great find in hustling, bustling Houston. We had the Filet Asada on a creamy queso corn sauce and the pork tenderloin in another delicious sauce. The chicken and sausage gumbo was really a soup, but a fabulous soup, and there are not enough adjectives to describe the most amazing coconut pie. This is dining at its best, delicious food and an easy, low key ambiance.
terrible experience – Never in my life have I had such a horrible dining experience! When my family arrived our estimated wait time was 20 minutes and it took almost an hour. I understand this was an estimate, but it has always been my experience that the restaurant will over estimate to keep their customers happy.
