Treated my husband for Carcinoid Cancer with Y-90 and PRRT. Told us the risks. The greatest was radiation toxicity causing low blood counts, liver and kidney failures but was very rare. Apparently not that rare. Rae was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia 9 months after his last treatment, went into liver and kidney failure and died a horrible painful death 7 weeks later. Should we have done it? We'll never no but this Doctor does not seem to care enough to call me back after numerous messages.
