I just had my 4th Mohs surgery with Dr. Sundby. The first time I met her I had a melanoma. The referring dermatologist had a Mohs surgeon in his practice but bypassed him to send me to Dr. Sundby because he knew she was excellent. Her staff is amazing each and every time. Everyone is so kind and friendly. Alyssa was my nurse this time. Explained everything in detail and she was so delightful to chat with until Dr. Sundby came into the room.When I made my appointment, it was two weeks out. My father had mohs surgery in his head. We walked in and he was taken back within 15 minutes of finishing paperwork. Waited approx 2 hours and then he was able to go grab lunch. The wound was completely covered. Got a call in less than an hour saying they had gotten all of his cancer on the first step! Took our time eating. Went back and they finished up. Super impressed. Thank you for making this entire experience so good!
My husband went in for mohs surgery on his scalp. We waited MAYBE 15 minutes before he was called back. The staff was very friendly and kind. He was back approx 2 hours before we had to wait for pathology. He experienced no pain! We were encouraged to go to lunch while we waited. As we ate, we got a call from the Dr. Office saying they had gotten all of his cancer in the first layer!!!! I just had a Mohs procedure done with Karen Sundby a week ago and I am very pleased with how the whole process went. Starting with the consultation, Karen and her staff were very kind and knowledgeable, answering all of my questions. When I showed up on surgery day, I was seen within minutes of checking in. Dr. Sundby is an exceptional surgeon and her RN, Annie, is outstanding. She performed a Mohs surgery on my nose and she really did a wonderful job. She expertly excised a carcinoma from my nose and masterfully closed and stitched the wound. You can hardly tells I had this procedure and my nose looks great! I highly, highly recommend her to anyone needing a Mohs' procedure. Dr. Sundby is busy, but absolutely worth the wait!
Called to for a appointment for Mohs. They made an appointment and said that they would call one to two business days to let me know my cost. I called back the next day because I wanted to budget. They told me I needed $3,000 upfront. They don't take payment plans. Who has that kind of money laying round, especially during a pandemic??? I told her I didn't have $3,000 upfront and she basically blew me off. She treated me as if it was an elective surgery for a nose job and not for melanoma! I required Mohs surgery on my face. After “fighting” with UC health Mohs department trying to get an appointment and an estimate for 4 months, a neighbor told me about Dr. Sundby. I called her office and within an hour I had an appointment for the following week and a general estimate. The whole experience has been lovely. I had the surgery yesterday and not only did they do a great job, but they clearly care a lot about patient comfort. I highly recommend the practice.
Doctor Sundby has always been very professional and pleasant.
I have seen Dr. Sundby for three Mohs surgeries over the past 5 years. I could not be more pleased with the outcomes of the surgeries or her staff. My regular Dermatologist told me that Dr. Sundby is better than most of the Plastic Surgeons she knows and I believe it. My wife has also had a couple of Mohs procedures with Dr. Sundby and neither of has visible scarring.
