We have been here quite a few times. The food is just ok, but the staff is always very nice. If you go during the sunset then it gets quite bright in your eyes.
Great food with a great view. We travel with four small dogs and it was too warm to leave them in the car. The host was very helpful and accommodated us with great patio seating so we could bring our dogs in their pet stroller. The two waitresses that we were in contact with were very happy and very helpful. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Tacoma.
Had the Monday AYCE fish, chips, chowder, and coleslaw. Great food and great value.
Johnny's Dock is a local treasure! Happy hour on the deck provides a beautiful view of Tacoma landmarks. Their Dungeness Crab Louie (on the dinner menu) is something everybody (especially visitors to the PNW area) should try. Their weeknight specials include razor clams and Dungeness crab cakes. I need to go there more often myself.
Disappointed in a few things. Went for a group birthday lunch. Space was great for the size if the party we had, but that was the only plus for this patron. We asked about the limited menu (3 items to choose from) and was told outright by our waiter that the fried chicken offered was the worst item in the restaurant (not too disappointing since it is a seafood place), however he had to check on ingredients 3 times before I could order because of food allergies.
