This is the only commercial airport in Orange County, situated 35 miles to the south of Los Angeles. It has two runways and parking space for over 7,500 vehicles. Over nine million passengers avail of its services each year, and over 20,000 tons of air cargo is handled here. Three commuter, 11 commercial and two all-cargo airlines operate from the airport too.

Very nice and friendly airport. Never been disappointed.
Nice airport overall, although for a newcomer it is confusing figuring out where to return rental cars, etc, as there are few/no signs on where to go until you get inside the airport 'loop' (at least not off of MacArthur blvd). Would also be better if rental car return was more centrally located. It's a pretty decent walk from rental cars to terminal C.
Love flying into this airport ....only thing I have to say is NOT GOOD..is that when you drop off your car you have to WALK A MILE to where you need to check in your baggage which is usually for me South west..YOU NEED A SHUTTLE ....
I love flying into John Wayne for its quality of service, and always being at ease flying through John Wayne. When I have the choice from make over LAX, or ONT, I would rather take the extra 30 min drive because of the service John Wayne issues to passengers!!!
