Dr. Gittinger should take a lesson in dealing with seniors. Although he is one himself, he seems to assume he can corners with them. He never spoke up to my mother even though she is in her mid 90s and extremely hard of hearing. He never led her to the chair despite her being nearly blind (something he was monitoring) and, like many seniors, unsteady on her feet. I spent over an hour with Dr. Gittenger and he diagnosed my problem with my medical situation. He made me feel at ease. I now know what I have to do. Dr. Gittenger is a major asset to Mass Eye and Ear. One of the best.

I see Dr. Gittenger annually, now semi annually. He is an extremely qualified Neurological Ophthalmologist. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

At no time of the visit was there any explanation given as to what was being done. The visit offered no solution or even suggestion other than to see my general practitioner and wait to see if symptoms(going on for 6months) resolve themselves. Scheduled for a second opinion(really a first one) and now have to wait another 10 weeks. My advice…. Schedule with a different Doctor
