Talks a good story, more about his practice, worries about being audited, fails to put the patient first. Dropped me after a cancer diagnosis telling me to get pain meds from oncologist at UAB, oncologist said they don’t treat pain, go back to Roberts. His response, “UAB should take care of you”! Suffering since then, you cannot depend on this guy.

I have been a patient with Dr. Roberts for almost 7 years. His clinic provides pain management for chronic pancreatitis and for chronic sciatic pain. I am 100% satisfied with the quality of care provided by Dr. Roberts and his staff. I receive pain management treatments every 90 days for pancreatitis (celiac injections) and every 6 months for sciatica (RFA). The entire process is efficient and effective. The staff is courteous, friendly, and very knowledgeable from check-in to release upon completion of the procedure. They a... read more

I have been a patient with Dr Roberts For over five years. I find he and his staff are professional, efficient, and effective. They are genuinely concerned about my physical well being. Dr Roberts had never failed to ask how I am doing or to take time to ensure I understand exactly what is happening in the procedure. Dr Roberts has always been available for an office visit and his Physician's Assistants handle each visit professionally. I have never left his office unsatisfied.

I have severe arthritis in my lower back, keeping muscles and tendons inflamed with frequent bouts of painful muscle spasms, some so strong they tore muscles. I was a 61 year old defense weapons systems analyst, but was having to quit work because of my lower back pain and pain medications. I am now 68 and still working. The shots don't heal the arthritis, but receiving them every 90 days decreases pain 70% to 90% across the period between shots. John Roberts is 100% my hero.

Overall - Unacceptable experiences w/TN Valley Pain / Dr. Roberts include: 1. Initial face meeting w/Dr. Roberts occurred only minutes prior to outpatient procedure. 2. Insufficient (local) anesthesia applied 10 seconds before (deep) back shot. Excruciatingly painful. 3. Unprofessional front office-to-patient communications, delays, rushed demeanor. 4. No written confirmation provided for outpatient procedure to confirm date/time/place/type/anesthesia. I won't return. .
