RecommendedI was actually in their acute neurological rehabilitation center. It's a floor within the hospital. They literally saved my life. I had a major surgery at Alta Bates from an awful pompous neurosurgeon who released me into rehabilitation without realizing that I had a serious staff infection. And thank god he did! Because the care at John Muir was like night and day. It was wonderful. Took my 4 year old son for a upper lip laceration to the ER. He was taken in immediately. Mark our nurse and Dr. O'Connor were excellent. They made my little guy feel as comfortable as possible! Thank you so much for your excellent care and outstanding bedside manners!

This is one the best hospitals in the Bay Area. Their staff is superb and the facility is clean and comfortable.
My husband had a near death stroke last January and without going into a million details, lets just say we spent the greater part of 2016 at John Muir. Everyone that we worked with was incredible. I would get hugs from the doctors, assuring me that we would get through this, as they meticulously went over everything that was going on with my husband and how we would move forward.
