I contacted the hospital billing department regarding an ER bill that was nearly three times higher than the estimate I was given at discharge. I would give negative stars if that were possible. Like many others here, I had the same experience—rude doctors, system glitches, billing errors, and no accountability. I’ve been trying to resolve an incorrect bill for months with no success, and there is no clear way to escalate the issue. The customer experience has been absolutely terrible. I would give the billing department a zero if allowed. My insurance paid my husband’s bills but John Muir provided the insurance company with an old address. So 18 months of phone calls from me and my insurance company John Muir cannot be bothered to correct the address to send the $$. Instead it’s easier to send us past due notices.

Absolutely terrible process - been trying to pay a bill for 6 months and staff is incompetent, wouldn’t let me speak to a supervisor and lots of back and forth. Absolutely terrible customer service and processes. You should do better for how much you charge people
