Dr. Lavery is brilliant. Although his pragmatism might seem "cold" to some other reviewers, I highly respect it! His medical assistants are warm, patient, and kind. Scheduling "in office" visits may be difficult due to just how busy the office might be due to demand, but they are VERY QUICK with communicating, directing, and answering questions via the patient portal. I am VERY impressed.
I have already recommended and urged a few people to head Dr. Lavery's way! In less than a month, I have had 3 blood draws for testing, 15+ xrays, and a lumbar MRI. In addition, they already communicated in getting me set up with a pain management doctor and physical therapy. Dr. Lavery is very pragmatic and thorough, and all of his assistants are genuine, kind, and intelligent. Scheduling an actual "office appointment" is difficult, but they do not hesitate to communicate and direct via phone
I have seen Dr. Lavery for the past four years. He is an excellent, thorough, caring doctor. Staff is good too.
Prior to moving to TX, I was on 6-7 different meds a day and had no specific diagnosis. I came to Dr. Lavery, and he ran several blood tests on me and was able to give me a definite diagnosis. I love the fact that he is not scared to run tests to get to the bottom of my illness. His staff is wonderful, and addresses any and all concerns. I love the fact that his appointments run on time.
I think he is very intelligent and great at diagnosing. He cares about his patients and wants to do want ever he can to help you feel better. He wants to know how you are doing. He remembers little things about you, so you know you aren't just another patient, and asks questions. He gives notes to patients about what you have discussed during the appointment. Great help!! No other doctor does this. He always asks , what can I do for you, or something similar. He really cares. Love him!!
Dr. Lavery is a brilliant Doctor. He cares about his patients, he's very got an incredible memory, knows more about all medical issues than anyone I've ever met. It is worth the wait it takes to get in to see him. He has so many office procedures you won't find any where else. You get notes about your visit, blood work letter sent before visit, you drop by office and get blood drawn, written results in the mail, and then you have the results so you can ask ?'s when you have your appointment.
Disregarded 5 years of previous testing and treatment from my former rheumatologist. Is more interested in data entry than listening to the patient. He has a routine of his nurse collecting data, then he comes in and sits at the computer asking for more data, leaves asking you to undress for a physical exam while he goes and sees someone else, comes back and does a rushed physical assessment of joints, leaves to see another patient while you are getting dressed, comes back and sits at the computer to type in his notes and ma... read more
I have been seeing Dr. Lavery for over 10 years now and would highly recommend him. There is quite a bit of turn over with front office staff.
Dr. Lavery is the kind of Dr. that won't back down from a challenge. He was my rheumatologist for several years until 1. Insurance changed (growl) and 2. He had front office staff/billing issues- from what I've heard they are gone, unfortunately the good with the bad. But Dr. Lavery is Great! Hope he's back on my Dr. list, soon!
