This is one of the most irresponsible and ill-managed organizations I have had the displeasure of working with. JLS managed my property in The Dalles for approximately four years. In that time they hired contractors at my request to perform work on my property and took the role of providing contractor oversight. Horrible company to rent from. Tenant of theirs for four years and they raised the rent every chance they got. Imposed higher deposits after I had already paid deposits upon move in. Added those mandatory deposits to my monthly rent amount due. We’re never open to anything less than a one year lease even when asking at very lease signing. They then imposed a tenant placement fee when I moved out early, they state they do this to many tenants but never disclose it in their lease, this is a fee that the owner is responsible to... read more

I applied back in December for a home to rent. I meet their requirements but have HUD(rental assistance) as I have a special needs son that I have to stay home and care for. It took them over a month to tell me the property doesn't take HUD. I then asked that they transfer my application to another property. After calling and emailing 5 times and waiting another 2 months I finally talked to someone that told me they do not take hud at all. I am being discriminated against unfortunately.
