I visited Primary Health Group -Appomattox as a new patient recently and was very pleased with my decision to go there. From the lady at the receptionist’s station, to the nurse, to the doctor I saw — John Clay — everything was top-notch! Anyone looking for a great medical practice should give them a call!
In my opinion Dr Clay is the best Dr in the tri-cities.
Dr. Clay exhibits a caring "bedside manner" to his patients at all times. He is the ultimate example of what a doctor should be, especially when you already feel downhearted because of the pain you are in. He patiently takes the time to get all the details of your illness so that he can offer his most professional solution to heal your debility. He and his staff, especially nurse Kim, patiently treat and care for you during the time you need them most.

We first met Dr Clay in Hopewell as he was helping Dr. Layman (our then family Dr). We decided if Dr Layman ever retired we would get Dr. Clay as our family doctor. As time went Dr Layman retired a few months later and we searched for Dr. Clay. We have not been sorry for that search. Dr Clay is a caring person, who will get to the bottom of a problem when you are in his office. He will answer any questions that you have. His staff also is great.
I enjoy a great patient care relationship with Dr. John Clay. He has time to listen to any concerns I have and to make suggestions on how I can maintain a healthy lifestyle. He explains medical conditions in terms that I understand. He is always prompt in reminding me to schedule my annual wellness tests. . I trust Dr. Clay's decisions concerning my health needs.
