Never have experienced such rude, dismissive and curt behavior from a doctor. Less than two minutes into my appointment, when I tried to described why by cheek was swollen and red he said, “ I’ll talk, you listen, okay?” I believe I just sat stunned. Three minutes later, two prescriptions for creams brusquely handed to me, he walked out the door. Wow. He was recommended by my GP. I am visiting her tomorrow to relate my experience, and tell her DO NOT recommend this person to anyone.
I've been going to Dr Cottam for over 12 years now and I love the different locations. He's on the ball. Be prepared bc he's quick and he can go through a list in little time. I love his quirky character. He listens always to every word effectively and I am in and out usually sooner than later like many other drs.
The worst dermatologist ever! Very uncleanly rooms, he was abrupt, scolded his assistant, made me stand there naked with no drape on. I had to ask him to look at areas of concern. Was there for a yearly skin check & he never checked my scalp, feet, in between toes-nothing. He is extremely unprofessional. Tried to push Retinol cream on me when he is the one with major sun damage! The office staff tried to charge me extra $ because I was using my credit card to pay. Do NOT go to this quack!
The worst! Not sure why he has chosen this profession as his bedside manner would be better at lets say....a morgue. Very dirty office...definitely not sterile. Waiting room jam packed and when you are finally seen he is very abrupt and rude. Gives no time for questions or concerns. Left feeling degraded and confused. Please save yourself and choose another dermatologist.
We took our children to Dr Cottam and here are our experiences: 1. He scolded his staff in the receptionist area where the waiting room could see and hear him. 2. He rushed through our visits. 3. He had his assistant hand me a paper that asked that we come to his office only after a full bath or shower and clean clothes on. We all showered the night before and I am a freak about clean smelling laundry. My husband and I are still in shock. We will NEVER take our kids their again!
Worst experience ever I had said to the receptionist I don’t want anything done to me that will be an extra charge if I’m not asked as the docter was looking at the He zapped to remove 4 skin tags he was mean unprofessional and ugly I didn’t even want to talk to him about some skin problems I had because he was so negative When I was on my way out the receptionist said that my total was $150 I almost had a heart attack I felt robbed they never asked me she said I signed please don’t go there
Charged xtra for the use of debit card to pay copay. Strange shares office with pain management my wife said it reminded her of an episode of claws. It creeped her out.
He has no bedside manners, was told by him that he didn't have time for me and wanted me to comeback in an hour, walked out when I asked a question and told me to ask nurse, over an hour wait, unprofessional staff, very dirty office, had instruments laid on counter which is unsterile, and wouldn't reimburse me my copay! I filed a complaint with my insurance company and the state board!
if you want wham bam thank you mam this is the place to go. Went in for a routine skin screening. After 3 to 4 minutes of exam and minor nitrogen freeze treatments I was billed $ 250 and told to come back for followup in 3 months. This is a very busy - pack them in- fast paced revolving door money making machine. Bottom line I will not go back . Hell I even had to ask him to look at the top of my balding head. They even wanted additional money if I used a credit card. STAY AWAY
